笠間市で強盗模擬訓練

On the 21st, Kasama Police Station (Chief Ogawa Noboru) conducted a mock robbery training exercise at the Yuki Shinkin Bank Tomobe Branch (Manager Horie Kazuya) in Higashidaira, Kasama City. Approximately 30 people participated, including branch and police officers, to practice how to respond in the event of an incident. The training involved a pair of police officers playing the role of criminals, with one threatening a staff member with a model gun from above the counter, while the other took a customer hostage. The officers remained calm despite the tense situation, chasing the fleeing criminal and relaying the criminal's characteristics to police officers who rushed to the scene. After the training, branch Deputy Chief Suzuki Masahiko reflected, "It's difficult to remember characteristics. With the criminal turned away, it was difficult to find the right timing to begin chasing him." Hoshi Kenji, chief of the police station's Public Safety Division, said, "I hope they'll make sure to check security equipment such as security cameras and colored balls."
