Ferrovia Canavese - von Rivarolo nach Pont.

Im Großraum Turin, nördlich davon, sozusagen im 'Anschluß' an das Piemont, liegt die Region Cavanese mit der Stadt Rivarolo im Mittelpunkt. Rivarolo ist bereits seit Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts durch die Eisenbahn erschlossen, und auch das Städtchen Pont, Ziel unserer Reise, hat seit 1906 Bahnanschluß. Zum Zeitpunkt unserer Reise ist die Zweigstrecke Rivarolo - Pont noch nicht elektrifiziert. Das wird jedoch zur Zeit gerade nachgeholt, um sie in das Turiner Stadtbahnsystem zu integrieren. Somit hat dieser Film auch eine dokumentarische Funktion, weil er die Strecke noch im Ursprungszustand zeigt. Bilder, die schon jetzt nicht mehr möglich sind. Natürlich wird die Stadtbahn das Orco-Tal viel besser erschließen, als das je der Fall war. Die Bedienung auf der alten Diesel-Strecke beschränkte sich hauptsächlich noch auf den Schüler- und ein wenig Berufsverkehr. Für die restliche Zeit war bereits Busbedienung allgegenwärtig. Viel Spaß nun auf der Reise nach Pont Canavese - und wenn's gefallen hat, werden weitere Filme aus dem Piemont folgen. --- In the greater Turin area, to the north of it, so to speak in the 'connection' to Piedmont, lies the Cavanese region with the city of Rivarolo at its center.
