In 2026, I took a day trip with my mother to "Shibazakura Hill" in Chichibu’s Hitsujiyama Park, which is celebrating its milestone 25th anniversary. The flowers bloomed earlier than usual this year, and the patchwork of 400,000 blooms spread out before us was truly a "pink carpet." It was a special time, surrounded by the overwhelming energy of the flowers. In the latter half of the trip, we ventured to Nagatoro to visit the newly renovated "SUSABINO Terrace" on Mt. Hodo. From the majestic view of Mt. Buko at the latest observation spot to the serene atmosphere of the 1,900-year-old Hodosan Shrine, this video brings you the best of Chichibu today—a perfect blend of the old and the new.
