Copy Editing Versus Proofreading - What's the Difference

Hello, Creatures! Today we are talking about some of the different types of editing services available during the publishing process. These are both types of editing that will be needed closer to the publication date than the drafting stages but are equally as important to make sure your book is error-free. The last few weeks of my editing program have made me want to share the differences between the two - they are very often confused! Copy editing focuses on substance errors while proofreading focuses on formating and ensuring all changes in the copy editing stage were addressed. In many cases, proofreading is one of the last things you'll do for a book. As always, stay creative and keep writing!
