Kruger National Park | Punda Maria | Taking it slow

Join me on this memorable trip as I explore the 2 national parks that are in the very north of the country. Part 1: Mazhou Camp, Mapungubwe National Park Part 2 (This episode): Punda Maria Rest Camp, Kruger National Park Punda Maria never disapoints! But this time it has exceeded my expectations. The hide in camp was the highlight with so many animals visiting the waterhole. Once again, the elephants were the stars of the show. Finding a big lion pride and wild dogs was such an unexpected bonus! The botanical diversity of the Punda Maria area is unrivalled in Kruger and driving along the Mahonie loop and the road along the Levuvhu River is some of the most scenic in Kruger. I enjoyed driving in the mornings and sitting in the hide in the afternoons. ------------------------------------------------------------ The trip starts off at Mapungubwe where It's my first time staying at the Mazhou Campsite in Mapungubwe National Park. 3 days later it was time to explore Punda Maria in Kruger National Park. What I really enjoyed on this trip are the hides at each camp! The Maloutswa hide is about 3km from camp and the hide inside the Punda Maria Rest Camp was great as you could sit in the hide 24/7. The theme of this entire trip was Elephants. Elephants came into camp to welcome me at Mazhou, then I came within touching distance at the Maloutswa hide, then had ellies within 10m from my braai, with no fence in between. At Punda Maria, the elephants trumpeting me to sleep and their antics at the waterhole were so entertaining! If you are wondering what birding app I used in the video for the visual reference, it was the Roberts Bird Guide 2. Check out their new Bird Games in the latest update. #krugernationalpark #elephant #animals Follow me: On Instagram:   / lb_birding_and_wildlife   On Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...
