Wojciech Kilar - Concerto for piano and orchestra , Waldemar Malicki (piano), Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, Antoni Wit (conductor) 1. Preludium: Andante con moto - 0:00 2. Corale: Largo religiosamente – 08:34 - 3. Toccata: Vivacissimo – 19:19 Wojciech Artur Kilar (17 July 1932 – 29 December 2013) was a Polish classical and film music composer. He has received numerous awards for his artistic activity and achievements. The vast majority of Wojciech Kilar's work remains undiscovered by the music public at large, despite having written music for well over 100 films, symphonic music, chamber work, piano concertos, vocal-instrumental pieces... “PIANO CONCERTO from 1997 - features another important for the composer tradition of deep religiousness. The whole piece is filled with an aura of meditation, contemplation and prayer that is further accented in the part II - Corale largo religiosamente - with a quotation from the church chorale Benedictus. Only the final Toccata gives an opportunity for a dynamic and very motorical virtuoso performance by the pianist.” (Polish Music Information Center)
