It’s impossible until the point that you try | Guest Jurgita Dronina | Unspoken Ballet #8

One lovely spring afternoon we entered the magic world of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Vilnius to meet with Jurgita Dronina. Jurgita is the Artistic Director of the Lithuanian National Ballet. Jurgita was just about 10 years old when ballet found her and they never let each other go. This special connection grew into a long lasting relationship through hard work, discipline and many years on the stage. Jurgita was a principal dancer with the National Ballet of Canada, and previously danced with the Royal Swedish Ballet, Dutch National Ballet and English National Ballet. Eventually in 2025 she returned back to Lithuania to take this beautiful but challenging role of the Artistic Director. She came back to share all what she gained through the years of her ballet dancer career and to pass it onto the new generation of dancers. It was an incredibly warm conversation, where it felt like if time stood still. We spoke about inspiration and motivation and how important it is to notice doors, which are opening to us in life and to embrace opportunities. There is no need to be scared of changes in life, because impossible is until the point that you try. Discipline and hard work are very important ingredients of ballet dancer’s daily life. We also see how important it is to be yourself in everything that you do and that rewards come eventually without a need to chase them. Jurgita kindly and openly shares her personal views and life experiences. We hope that this interview will inspire you to find motivation in life and everything that you do or would like to do.
