This time was particularly special because Luther joined me from CA and it was our first time meeting and playing with Dom Moio, who has an incredible reputation in the Arizona scene and BEYOND for good reason! He is a humble cat who doesn’t gloat about his incredible resume (Clark Terry, Ahmad Jamal, etc) — classy, professional, personable and SWINGS his butt off. Much like our great friend and master drummer, Joe LaBarbera, who connected us and I’m so glad he did. I hope you enjoy this rendition of "I'll Remember April", which features Dom on drums. CHECK OUT: Dom (aka "MR. SAUCE") has a cool series on his YouTube channel called Mr. Sauce where he is hanging out with various jazz musicians who come through town (Joe LaBarbera, Steve Gadd, etc) while cooking his signature Italian sauce. The nickname comes from the fact that his name literally means "Mr. Sauce" in Portuguese: Dom means "Mr." and Moio means "Sauce".
