Vintage Cross Country Race at '24 Barber Vintage Festival Full Race POV

Helmet camera video of the AHRMA vintage cross country race at the Barber Vintage Festival on Friday October 11, 2024. I am racing a lightly modified 1970 CL100 in the Intermediate Sportsman 100 class. In hindsight, I should have run Expert class so I could start 2 minutes earlier. The main modifications to the bike are an SL125 gear set, aftermarket rear shocks & handle bar risers. The forks are stock & they are the largest limitation of the bike, even over the weak engine. I over-filled the fork legs with 30wt oil & put spacers in the springs to make them more stiff but there is still only a couple of inches of travel. When the forks bottom out the front end bounces to one side or the other & I have to catch up with it. It also sends a shock through the bars that ends somewhere between my hands & my ass.
