My Top SOLO Camus Songs!
14. Double Face - This is honestly a good song, but alas, one has to be in last place. What makes this song so fun is hearing Camus switch. But to tell you the truth, when I first met Camus, this was something I didn’t like. I wasn’t a fan of his idol persona being all sweet and prince-like, and his off-stage persona being demanding and arrogant. Still, I really like listening to how Tomoaki Maeno is able to portray this with his voice, and I’m still so impressed by how he performs it on stage. Now I know more about Camus, so his switch entertains me. 13. Saintly Territory - Very much giving Dracula, and I love it for it. Now, something I enjoy a lot from Camus’ song is that they are magnificent; they have that sound that makes it so classy and epic. 12. Romantic Days - Such a sweet song. Camus’ internal conflict was that he had two voices, and eventually he uses more of his “real” voice, that being when it is deeper. But here, it sounds like he isn’t forcing that “fake” voice; he sounds genuinely sweet. For me, it's a nice conclusion where he has accepted both voices as his own and uses them to express different feelings, like being more romantic and tender. 11. Steward Dance - Another song that has that Camus switch, but it is less noticeable. A very prince-like song, it’s fun! 10. Do you know who I am? - This song gets me so hype. It is so well balanced, with the fast beat and Camus' rap (it fits him better than I initially thought), then a slower tempo that lets Camus' vocals show through. I love how well the ice powers are incorporated in the movie. Also, they knew exactly what they were doing, adding the scene where Camus grabs onto Ranmaru’s chin. I would like to personally thank whoever chose to put that there lol 9. Melting of Snow - The first time I heard the song, I thought “This is not really my style...” but afterwards the “Melting of snow~” wouldn’t leave my head. Eventually I found myself singing to it, so there was no denying it; I actually do like this song haha. 8. Zettai Reido Emotion - I love how early Camus songs have a melody that sounds so classy and dominant. And here it's even hypnotic. It also carries that 2000s gothic anime sound that I miss so much. 7. Aurora - I have to say, I still cringe a bit with the speech in the beginning. I can recount times when I skipped this song because of it. So when I was making this ranking, I had to ignore that part and focus only on the song. This is a really nice song. I like how magical it sounds, and it parallels Cecil's style. 6. Junketsunaru Ai -Aspiration - Going back to that 2000s gothic anime style that I miss so much, this song is exactly that. I love listening to the organ and harp, plus Camus' voice fits this style so well~~ 5. All My Mission - This song gives me the image of dancing in a dream with Camus. Like he is with me but not really…there’s this tragic sound that mixes with a sound of desire. I don’t have the vocabulary to describe it, but there's something so special about the melody. Camus’ voice sounds as if it was reaching for something (or someone). So beautiful, I like it. 4. Frost Dream - I love the chorus; Camus’ voice resonates so clearly, it sounds so good. Love that the organ is back; the melody is a bit wicked. Like most Camus songs have that grandiose melody that overlaps with the sound often used with villains. Not saying that Camus is evil, but in here there's that “bad guy” sound… It's a great song haha 3. Floating Labyrinth - There are so many good things to say about this song. It is so entrancing. I could ramble about the rhythm, melody, Camus’ voice, etc but all I will say is that I can’t stop listening to it. 2. Pit a pat - I love how Camus got to sing in an entirely new style! The way I froze when I listened to this for the first time- I was stunned! The song is so so good. I never considered Camus' voice in a traditional melodic song, but he fits so well. We honestly need more of this; just imagine a duo with Masato! 1. Ice Pierrot - You have no idea how much I love this song. To begin with, the Pierrot concept is genius. For someone like Camus, who has been portrayed as having an ice-cold personality and as above everyone, now placed in a character like Pierrot, this shows his self-realization and character growth. Plus the fact that the song is about questioning who he is, but he sounds so free, as if he is looking for an answer he already has in hand. And he just looks so good in the Pierrot clothes. As for the song itself, it's fun, but it also carries a sentimental depth that Camus expresses so well (Tomoaki Maeno’s voice is so versatile and wonderful!). Thank you for reading the description!
