Hear industry professionals answer questions like: What are the trends of 2022 that Data Viz Practitioners should be aware of? What does the future of Data Viz look like? What are the skills that a Data Viz Practitioner can count on being good in 10 or 20 years. ***** Panelists: Alli Torban is an Information Design Consultant at Torban Design Studio based in the Washington, D.C.-Metro area, and host of the podcast Data Viz Today. She specializes in designing data visualizations and infographics for industry experts to help get their work seen and understood by a wider audience. In her spare time, she enjoys designing patterns and spending time with her husband and two girls in Vienna. Danielle Alberti is the data visualization editor at Axios. She comes from a background of front-end web development at the Pew Research Center, with a journalism degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She lives in Arlington with her husband, 4-year-old daughter and two cats. Randy Krum is a data visualization designer, author of the book, Cool Infographics: Effective Communication with Data Visualization and Design, Founder and President of InfoNewt.com, Organizer of the Dallas-Fort Worth Data Visualization Meetup group, instructor of Data Visualization Design at Southern Methodist University, and runs the popular website Coolinfographics.com. Randy presents talks and workshops at conferences, universities, corporate events, and government agencies about communicating with data, data visualization design, visual content marketing, infographics design & promotion, and the effective use of visual communication. Her primary goal is to develop and execute intuitive methodologies and communication techniques that inspire change in individuals and organizations. She has experience working in public health in the military and on psychology topics including decision making, placebo expectations, and personality, and currently works at a non-profit as a research public health analyst bringing rigor and clarity to communication science. Will Angel is a Data focused Product Manager and Author, co-organizer for the Data Visualization DC meetup group, and helps lead communications and development for the Data Community DC non-profit. He has worked in fin-tech, consumer and, healthcare startups, and has a background in bioethics and physics.
