Edit: PASGT helmets were actually first used by paratrooper units of the 82nd Airborne during Reforger 82 in 1982. Additionally 6 Color Chocolate chip cover PASGT covers were first worn over M1 helmets by a small number of forces during Bright Star 83 in 1983. Part one of two in which we decipher and detail the development and history of the US Military's PASGT helmet. One of the first of it's kind the PASGT helmet revolutionized combat helmets and became one of the most recognized and widely used composite ballistic helmets in the entire world.
