Dominant Upper Structures | Major Triads | Two Handed Chords | Jazz Piano: Short Practice Ideas
Hello jazz piano lovers! We are back in action with a brand new video geared towards intermediate/advanced students. This video shows a simple little pattern that you can use to remember the places within a dominant chord that you can build major triad upper structures. This is a great way to think about playing a two handed dominant chord because of all the options it grants us. Proceed with caution though, you must really use your ears when comping with these voicings randomly - if your extensions do not match what the soloist is playing you may cause an unintentional dissonance. We love our dissonance, we just want it to be controlled! Happy practicing! Mack www.mackgrout.com www.seattlejazzacademy.com www.facebook.com/mackgroutmusic
