Sexual Equality and the Sinthome—Jacques-Alain Miller in conversation with Michel Onfray (extract)

This is an extract from a conversation between Michel Onfray and Jacques-Alain Miller, which was published in issue 36 of Philosophie Magazine, January 2010. In it, Jacques-Alain Miller responds to remarks made by Michel Onfray on the sexual politics of Freud's work. In his response, Jacques-Alain Miller indicates that there is a kind of 'sexual equality' in Lacan's teaching, insofar as each 'speaking being' must invent their own necessarily symptomatic and ultimately singular response to the problem of human sexuality.
