This mineral collecting site in known for its deep purple Fluorite as well as Apatite or Fluorapatite crystals that have chunks of purple Fluorite stuck in them. This large collecting site is accessed by signing a waver online on the Highlands East Municipal website. A variety of minerals can be found at this site including Apatite, Augite, Calcite, Fluorite, Pyrite, Scapolite, Titanite and others. This is one of the easier sites to access in the Bancroft mineral collecting area and is located not far from Titanite Hill the Grace Lake road cut and the famous but now closed Bear Lake digging site. Collect, rock hound, explore and hike at your own risk and always seek land owner permission before collecting.
