Assessment Summary: In the course of the Real Jewish Messiah Debate Dr. Michel Brown did his best to present the Christian viewpoint on the Messiah and I tried to present the Jewish perspective. As I watched Dr. Brown’s third presentation I realized that he simply doesn’t understand the Jewish position on Messiah. In his mind, the Jewish understanding of Messiah is nothing but the inverse of the Christian understanding of Messiah. In other words, Dr. Brown’s perception is that the Jewish view of the Messiah consists of all of the Jewish refutations to the Christian narrative. But Dr. Brown fails to understand that there is a positive Jewish understanding of the Messiah that is completely unrelated to Christianity. Dr. Brown acknowledges that King David is representative of the Messiah. Is there a concept more closely associated with King David other than validating Israel’s trust in God? As you watch this debate you will realize that Dr. Brown has no clue why I speak of trust in God in relation to the Messiah.
