Simon showcases how he devised a simple and cheap way to make a cold frame, using an upcycled fireguard and bubblewrap, to give young plants protection during the tricky weeks and days in the run up to last frost date. Using creativity cold frames can be made from any old bits and bobs, Simon creates this one using an old fire guard, some bubblewrap (for insulation) and pallet wrap – although cling film or a second layer of bubblewrap can also be used – plus some everyday house hold items. The cold frame can be disassembled when not in use and some of the materials reused for next time.
