Today we’re starting a week long journey that’ll take us for four days through Lombok and the secret Gillis as well as the famous other three Gili islands. The first leg starts with the western side of Lombok named Senggigi where we fall in love with the rather unknown Nipah beach which has come recommended by the Hotel manager. We also spend a little while on Senggigi beach but since it was backed by hotels it didn’t quite have the charm we were after. Nipah beach on the other hand has no hotels but mainly family run beach shacks which gives it a very friendly and laid back vibe right up our street, it’s also the perfect location with Bali and Mt Batur (volcano) as a stunning backdrop for the sunset.
