Established in 1949 the Astoria bakery and cafe became an essential meeting place for poets, writers, artists, photographers and politicians. Archibald Chien met Russian immigrants who fled from Shanghai and formed the Astoria. The food is based on Russian style, and with it's unique atmosphere, is the most original coffee shop in Taiwan.
