ADIW02 | Dr. Alexandros Alexakis | Phases of Turbulence
Speaker: Dr Alexandros Alexakis (École Normale Supérieure) Date: 25th Mar 2024 - 10:10 to 11:00 Venue: INI Seminar Room 1 Title: Phases of Turbulence Event: (ADIW02) Mathematical and Computational Modelling of Anti-Diffusive Phenomena Abstract: In strongly anisotropic domains, high Reynolds number turbulence exhibits distinct behaviors with respect to the direction of cascade, contingent upon the value of the anisotropy parameter. These diverse behaviors often manifest as discrete phases of turbulence, demarcated by critical values of the parameters. In this presentation, I will delve into recent findings, categorize these behaviors, and elucidate the turbulence dynamics near critical values. ------------------- FOLLOW US 🌐| Website: https://www.newton.ac.uk 🎥| Main Channel: / @isaacnewtoninstitute 🐦| Twitter: / newtoninstitute 💬| Facebook: / newton.institute 📷| Instagram: / isaacnewtoninstitute 🔗| LinkedIn: / isaac-newton-institute-for-mathematical-sc...
