How Can Dance Make You Smarter? | Bogdan Berlov | TEDxNazarbayevUniversity
NOTE FROM TED: This talk only represents the speaker's personal views and understanding of movement and the brain. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: http://storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/t... Practicing dance on a high level makes people genius. It is also believed that the human brain activity while dance freestyling is equivalent to that of a Ph.D. scientist solving some quantum physics hardest problem. Is that true? In his talk, Bogdan from his personal experience will discuss how a dance background is helpful in solving further math problems. He assumes that it comes from the way dancers process the music while freestyling. Imagine you don't know the song, but your brain analyzes it and recalls algorithms of the music you have already listened to, then makes you choose which type of move to insert to that particular sound. Almost sounds like solving integrals, right? Student at School of Sciences and Humanities in Nazarbayev University. He is a professional hip-hop dancer representing Kazakhstan on the world stage. Brand ambassador of EY Kazakhstan, Samsung, and Gorilla Energy. He received several awards for his achievements in his studies and dancing performances. During his talk, he will inform people about the hidden benefits of dance, and make people believe that dance can make them smarter. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
