Casablanca, November 28, 2024 — The Alliance of Istiqlal Engineers held a conference and debate at the Sofitel Casablanca on the theme of "The Transition to Sustainable Mobility: A Lever for Growth for Morocco 2030." This event brought together prominent figures from the Istiqlal Party and experts in the sector. The first session was attended by Aziz Hilali, President of the Alliance, as well as key ministers such as Abdessamad Kayouh, Minister of Transport and Logistics, and Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade. In his address, Ryad Mezzour emphasized the importance of the energy transition, describing it as a crucial transformation on a global scale. He discussed the challenges related to energy security and climate change, while highlighting the opportunities available to Morocco, particularly in terms of industrial development and the creation of green jobs. “The national and international events that Morocco will host between now and 2030 must serve as a driving force to accelerate these projects and strengthen solutions supporting sustainable mobility,” he stated. The minister also emphasized the need for collective mobilization of all stakeholders to build a sustainable future, consolidating Morocco’s position as a regional leader in sustainability and innovation. The second session brought together experts such as Bahija Boucetta, Director of Road Transport, Tarek Chbourk of Royal Air Maroc, and representatives from the National Railways and Airports Office.
