Stratos Data Center Project - This is NOT the place for the worlds biggest hyperscale data center

You may have heard about the Stratos hyperscale data center complex that has been permitted to be built on the northern end of the Great Salt Lake, and wondered what all the fuss is about. In this video, I'm going to explain the major environmental issues already facing the Great Salt Lake and surrounding areas, and show you why this probably isn't the right place for this particular large scale project. During my research on this, I've pulled from excellent reporting and fact checking that has been done by a large collection of concerned people, and I'd like to share some of the more important and relevant resources I've drawn from as I was putting this video together: The Utah Clean Energy report on estimated consumption and emissions from the project is here: https://utahcleanenergy.org/estimated... Box Elder County prepared this Fact Sheet to explain how great the project is: https://www.boxeldercountyut.gov/647/... The Salt Lake Tribune explains the MIDA link to the project here: https://www.sltrib.com/news/politics/... The folks at Elevate Utah have a substack that is doing a great job of keeping us posted on an ongoing basis.
