Mushroom Hunter Vol. 11 As the seasons change, nameko mushrooms are beginning to appear one after another in the Okuyama mountains! A late maitake harvest and mushroom patrol. Mushroom season is still in the middle. The mushrooms available change constantly: mastake, maitake, beech mushroom, katake, oak mushroom, oyster mushroom, and mukitake mushroom. Mushroom patrols are an important task, as they identify the beginnings of each mushroom's budding. If we find a baby mushroom, we work backwards to calculate its growth and harvest it at the optimal time. Natural mushrooms are also affected by the weather, so harvesting them at the perfect time can be extremely challenging. Even if we don't find any mushrooms emerging, it's not a waste of time, but rather a good workout for myself. ^ ^ Today was another day to be grateful for the blessings of nature.
