GTX·고속도로 확장…평택 교통 허브로 도약

[Article Content] Pyeongtaek City has embarked on a major transportation network innovation project, including the extension of the GTX-A and C lines and the expansion of the Siheung-Pyeongtaek Expressway. The GTX-A line will be extended to Pyeongtaek Jije Station in 2028, and upon opening, major metropolitan areas such as Samseong Station will be accessible in about 30 minutes. The Siheung-Pyeongtaek Expressway is currently undergoing expansion, expanding a 36km section from four lanes to six to eight lanes. This expansion is expected to significantly alleviate traffic congestion and improve logistics for industrial complexes and accessibility to the Seoul metropolitan area. The introduction of intermodal transfer centers and smart transportation systems is also underway. Anjung Station is currently served by the Seohae Line, and with the KTX direct connection project slated for 2027, it is expected to usher in an era of direct KTX travel from Pyeongtaek Anjung Station to Seoul Station.
