Watch Pirate & Champion Return Home: Rescued Elephant Seals Released!

Join us for a heartwarming event as two adorable elephant seals, Pirate and Champion, return to their ocean home! Learn more about visiting, volunteering, and donating at marinemammalcare.org! Pirate was rescued from Torrance Beach a month ago due to malnourishment after being previously rehabilitated earlier in the year. During care, Pirate regained sufficient weight and learned how to successfully forage for fish. Some animals just need a second helping hand, and thanks to your support, the Marine Mammal Care Center can provide a safe haven for seals like Pirate not just once, but for their entire lives. Champion was rescued in April at Abalone Cove after being found extremely malnourished and dehydrated. After a few months of Fish School learning how to eat and forage for fish, Champion gained a healthy amount of weight and is now ready to return home.
