Opel Manta A Suspension Upgrade [EP. 1] Front End Disassembly & Undercoating

The time has finally come to update and rebuild the suspension on my 1973 Opel Manta A. It all started with the need for new shocks, since the car bounces and rolls badly. But since all the rubber bushings are nearly 50 years old, it's probably a good time to replace them as well. While I was researching parts, I also thought I'd try a set of lowering springs, shipped all the way from Germany. Then I realized my tires were 13 years old and should be replaced too. This is going to be a major project! In this first video of the series, I go over the issues and my plans for the project. Then I dive in and completely disassemble the front end - brake spindles, control arms, shocks, springs, sway bar, steering rack, and support brackets. Once the front end is empty, I start the aesthetic cleanup work and freshen up the paint and undercoating in the front wheel wells & crossmember.
