I Built a Bike Shop With AI — Here’s What Happened

I opened Go Grava Bicycles in March 2024… right in the middle of a bike industry downturn. I couldn’t afford a marketing team, a web developer, or a finance department—so I did something different: 👉 I “hired” AI. In this video, I interview my AI assistant (ChatGPT, a.k.a. “Chat”) about how we’ve worked together for the last year and a half to build and grow my small bike shop and mobility business. We talk honestly about what AI actually does for me day-to-day, where it’s been a game changer, and where real humans are still absolutely essential. 💡 In this video you’ll see: How I used AI to pivot from a traditional bike shop to a broader mobility business Top 5 ways AI helps my shop: -Writing unique, SEO-friendly product descriptions -Financial planning, loan strategy & not overextending the business -Social media ideas, captions, and campaign planning -Long-term business planning and “founder therapy” as a sounding board -Web dev & email: Liquid pages, raw HTML emails, landing pages What it’s like being a solo founder and using AI to fight the “lonely entrepreneur” problem Why I’m not afraid of other shops using AI and how I see it as a big blue ocean, not a red-ocean fight How I’m planning to use AI next: daily briefings, analytics, ad optimization, and future AI agents for customer emails 🧠 Who this video is for Small business owners wondering if AI is worth the time Bike shop owners trying to survive the current economy Creators and founders who can’t afford a full team (yet) Anyone curious what it really looks like to build a brick-and-mortar business with AI in the loop 🌎 Connect with Go Grava 📍 Go Grava Bicycles – Wyomissing, PA 🚴‍♂️ Instagram: @GoGrava.us 📺 YouTube: @GoGrava If you got value from this, hit subscribe, drop a comment about how you’re using (or avoiding) AI in your work, and let’s keep this conversation going.
