Land and Building Surveyors are experts in the registration of real estate descriptions (representing physical conditions) and the clarification of land boundaries. (Article 1 of the Land and Building Surveyors Act) Last year marked the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the land and building surveyor system. Our association is an organization composed of land surveyors and land surveyor corporations with offices within the jurisdiction of the Sapporo Legal Affairs Bureau. We currently have approximately 270 registered members, and we carry out our work with high ethical standards and a sense of responsibility. In addition, our association has established the Sapporo Boundary Dispute Resolution Center, which provides consultations and mediation to resolve boundary disputes through mutual discussion without the need for court. We work in collaboration with attorneys affiliated with the Sapporo Bar Association to resolve boundary disputes. Land surveyors provide support to the public as professionals in "real estate registration" and "land boundaries."
