Nadeem Yaqub, Urdu VOA News, Washington Pakistan's top classical and Ghazal singer Ustad Hamid Ali Khan visited Washington DC recently. During an interview Hamid Ali Khan talks about the future of classical music in Pakistan. Because of the onslaught of popular music in last couple of decades the classical and semi-classical music was finding it hard to survive. But Hamid sees a reversal in that trend. He says more and more people are coming back to classical music and their understanding of the music is also growing. The scion of well known Patiala family, he also explains how music Gharans are formed in sub-continent.
