CARMELITES NUNS @ MATHOURA, NSW - WHAT IS PRAYER?
The first of three mediations by the Carmelites on prayer. We are deeply enriched by the spiritual treasure of having the Carmelites in our Diocese. Their tremendous dedication to Christ in Religious Life according to the noble Carmelite tradition, is a powerful reminder of the spiritual life and how much we need God. Bishop Columba invited the Carmel in Lincoln (USA) to establish a new foundation in his Diocese of Wilcannia-Forbes, commencing in 2019. From Lincoln, three sisters along with another from Elysburg have established a new Carmel. Two of the founding sisters were born and raised in Australia before moving to the USA to pursue their vocation. We assure these good and faithful women of our prayerful and practical support.
