KEF LS50 Meta Review & Comparison w/Alon Model 1 & Focal Theva 1

Just wanted to share some of my thoughts about the popular KEF LS50 Meta speakers compared with my existing system speakers. Overall the KEF LS50's sound pretty good, particularly in the treble, but unfortunately with my setup the mids and vocals sound a bit recessed and veiled. Because I use my speakers with music and movies it's imperative that the midrange be neutral (uncolored), clean, and not recessed. What drew me to the Alon Model 1's and the Focal Theva 1's was their midrange. The Alon's have an exceptional midrange that provides both slam, clarity, and openness. The Focals unfortunately sound a bit colored with their box, but for a box speaker, the midrange is really solid and full. Judging from reviews here on Youtube, the KEF LS50 Meta's really benefit from a really powerful amp. Their sensitivity is only 85db which is pretty low. Technically any amp will drive them, but to push the speakers to their fullest capability requires and amplifier that I neither own, nor have the will to purchase at this time. Apparently if you have the proper amplification, the LS50's sound like open baffle speakers, they sound like a live performance, the mids are no longer veiled or recessed, bass is adequate (no subwoofer necessary), and they are worth far more than the $1600 asking price.
