“The Songs of Fanny Crosby” (the complete LP) features The Christian Faith Women’s Chorus directed by John Lundberg, with arrangements by Ralph Carmichael. This collection of familiar and beloved gospel songs came from the pen of Fanny Crosby (1820-1915) along with the musical creations of a variety of different composers. Fanny wrote more than 8,000 hymns and gospel songs and these titles are among her best-loved: “All the Way My Savior Leads Me” (Crosby-Lowry), “Blessed Assurance” (Crosby-Knapp), “To God Be the Glory” (Crosby-Doane), “Safe in the Arms of Jesus” (Crosby-Doane), “Saved By Grace” (Crosby-Stebbins), “He Hideth My Soul” (Crosby-Kirkpatrick), “Redeemed” (Crosby-Kirkpatrick), “Though Your Sins Be as Scarlet” (Crosby-Doane), and “Near the Cross” (Crosby-Doane). The project, one of several choral collaborations between John Lundberg and Ralph Carmichael, was released on both the Christian Faith and Chapel labels.
