Behind on Taxes... No Power for MONTHS

This one started with a property that looked like it had been completely reclaimed by nature. Thick vines had swallowed the buildings, brush had taken over almost every inch of the yard, and it honestly looked abandoned. When I met the homeowner, she apologized for how everything looked and told me she was embarrassed by how bad it had gotten. But once she started explaining everything she'd been through, it all made sense. After dealing with years of setbacks, she found herself trying to maintain the entire property on her own while also helping care for her daughter. Squatters had made their way onto the property and stole much of the equipment she relied on to keep everything maintained. Without the tools she needed, the property slowly became impossible to keep up with. Things only continued to get worse. She fell behind on her property taxes, went months without electricity, and quietly kept everything to herself because she didn't want anyone to know how much she was struggling. Once I heard her story, I knew this was about a lot more than mowing an overgrown property. Over the next several days, we worked to clear years of overgrowth, cut back the massive vines that had completely taken over the buildings, and give her property back to her. I don't share stories like this to draw attention to what we do.
