AQUATIC AUSTRALIA - STORIES FROM THE DEEP This film is part of the Aquatic Australia visual dive logbook, a growing archive of real dives recorded across Australian Waters. Date : 7th March 2026. Dive : IJ#2130 Location : NE Rottnest Island 3nm Offshore, Western Australia Site : Opera House Min Water Temp : 21 C Max Water Temp : 22 C Visibility : 20m Depth : 34.2m Time : 37 min Observations : Lovely to have the cavern all to ourselves. We went from the West end all the way to the SE side and the heart shaped cave using Nitrox for bottom time. The cave was beautiful with sunlight shining blue down from the ceilings onto schools of small fish like jewels scattered on blue velvet. Dive : IJ#2131 Location : Inshore N. Rottnest Island, Western Australia Site : Min Water Temp : 21 C Max Water Temp : 22 C Visibility : 10-15m Depth : 12.9m Time : 41 min Observations : Nice dive. Worth exploring this reef more. Found the big cave and the East side slope. ABOUT THIS FILM A calm, real-time record of a dive day exploring the two reefs on the N Side of Rottnest. Diving off a RIB Fuzzy Duck with Chris, a regular dive buddy and Oceana skippering under supervision the whole way for the first time . This film also contains a short section explaining how small boat diving differs from large boat diving and how to dive from small boats that might be interesting to those doing and Advanced Open Water certification/ boat diver certification or similar. This film also introduces new maps made by me in a standard simplified format with a view to explaining the dive and the site in more detail in this and later videos.
