Let It Please Be You---- Desires---LIVE---1983
In the mid/late 50s, the Desires were formed in New York City. The members were: Robert "Bootsie" White (Lead), Charles Hurston (First Tenor), Jim Whittier (Tenor), George "Smithy" Smith (Baritone), and Charles Powell (Bass). In 1959, they scored a local hit with this song, "Let it Please Be You," on the Hull label. Here, Desires lead singer, Bootsy White, recreates his original lead and is backed by another New York group, the Laddins (Nevin Benjamin, John Marcus, Jimmy Cane, and Dee Jay/Host Bobby Jay.).
