DTC Tips & Tricks course at https://dtcuk.co/online_courses/test-... is suitable for experienced learners and international drivers When you attend your driving test, after checking your documents, the examiner will request that you read a number plate from a distance of 20 metres. That is about 5 car lengths. If you can read the number plate, then you carry on with the driving test. If you can’t read it, the examiner will choose a different vehicle and give you a second chance. If you still fail to read that number plate, the examiner will get a tape measure and measure the exact distance, usually a different number plate.
