According to Dian, one concrete step the government can take is to resolve the issue of the ships that are still being detained. Dian explained that this step could also help secure the release of two Indonesian tankers currently being detained. He believes that improving relations with Iran requires concrete concepts and steps as a form of good intentions. Meanwhile, INDEF Economist Abra Talattov believes the energy crisis in recent months has provided important lessons for Indonesia. He revealed that the number of layoffs increased significantly last May. According to Abra, if energy prices decrease, industry has the opportunity to recover and re-employ workers. He also believes that the easing of geopolitical pressures should give the government more freedom to stimulate the economy. According to Abra, the next priority is foreign investor confidence in government policies. On the other hand, international law expert Hikmahanto Juwana believes there are three important lessons Indonesia can learn from the conflict over the past six weeks. "Iran is capable of refusing to be intervened. Meanwhile, we are often very easily intervened. Whether it's the ART agreement, entering into the BOP, and so on," he said. Furthermore, Hikmahanto believes Indonesia needs to be more effective in capitalizing on the momentum in international relations built by President Prabowo Subianto.
