The Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (FIESP) and the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) have spoken out following the confirmation of the 25% tariff increase by the US. The institutions emphasize that the measure will affect the competitiveness of Brazilian products. FIESP highlighted that the measure is "especially harmful because it is unilaterally limited to Brazil." According to CNI data, more than four thousand products could be affected by the new tariffs. These items represent more than US$15 billion in Brazilian exports. The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) confirmed on Wednesday (15) the application of an additional 25% tariff on Brazilian products, with an extensive list of exempt items.
