Destroy and Recycle-The last days of the summer.

More everyday life in the yard. There’s quite a few clips of our new Volvo FNX540 hookloader, I can’t believe how expensive everything is now compared with a few years ago. The cost of painting is astronomical, plus, a lot of good paintshops have closed down. We’re well known for our stocks of cast iron, particularly brake discs and there’s some footage of me stacking discs. Contrary to popular belief, we do sell them, continually, when a foundry orders a load, unlike loading material for export from the docks that we can load out at our leisure, we have to wait for orders for our foundry grades. There’s more footage of our Copex S-Wing 1000 tonne shear shearing some heavy steel, but also, just bailing large vans. It’s a multi purpose machine for us and we continually switch between grades and materials. There’s a drone aerial view of the yard, no sound with that but it doesn’t last long, it gives a good idea of our rural location, albeit, a formerly industrial valley that used to be packed with textile mills and engineers-we do still have some industry it has to be said. I filmed the old Jones crane working with the even older Foden dumptruck, always popular for some reason. Finally, after a long dry spell, albeit with some extremely heavy rain for a few days, we resumed washing machines again, my son John washed the Case loading shovel. We have a private water supply form a bore well and we’ve been careful to not pump too much water as we have no idea of the flow in the well after a dry spring and summer.
