Alaska Road Trip Series Premiere: Our 10,000-Mile RV Odyssey Begins | Alaskan Odyssey

We’re just getting started on our 10,000-mile RV road trip to Alaska! In this first episode, we leave North Carolina head towards Tennessee. After a long journey west from North Carolina, we finally pass through California on this episode-6 of the Alaskan Odyssey! Our adventure begins at Lake Tahoe, where we enjoy the crisp mountain air before heading toward Lassen Volcanic National Park. Along the way, a Garmin navigation detour puts us on a narrow, one-way road barely wide enough for our big rig, teaching the lesson to always pre-study your route. At Lassen, the main highway and Subway Cave are still closed due to snow and fallen trees, so we make the best of it with a hike along the road, soaking in the volcanic landscape up close. After a day of adventure, we watch a breathtaking sunset on Mount Lassen, a reminder that some places always call us back. The next morning, we push toward Arcata and the Pacific Coast, climbing mountain passes, navigating small towns, and ultimately reaching Crescent City. The thunder of the Pacific waves greets us as we celebrate reaching the West Coast, a milestone after thousands of miles traveled. Next episode, we’ll spend a few days exploring the incredible Redwood National Park—it’s going to be spectacular.
