Psychopedagogical Assessment We call psychopedagogical assessment the process of investigating disorders, disturbances, or pathologies related to human learning; that is, its objective is to discover what may be influencing and hindering healthy human development. The psychopedagogical assessment can last up to 10 sessions, following these steps: Session 1: Family Interview Session 2: Application of the E.O.C.A. (Educational Assessment of Cognitive Behaviors) Session 3: Application of the Operational Tests (stage 1) Session 4: Application of the Operational Tests (stage 2) Session 5: Application of Projective Techniques (stage 1) Session 6: Application of Projective Techniques (stage 2) Session 7: Application of the Pedagogical Tests (stage 1) Session 8: Application of the Pedagogical Tests, if necessary (stage 2) Session 9: Anamnesis with parents or guardians Session 10: Feedback session with parents and the subject, and strategies for the next stage. Psychopedagogical Intervention After the first stage is completed, it's time to begin the necessary interventions for the patient's development. At this point, it's important to make it clear to the parents the importance of attending the appointments. Many parents, after receiving feedback, may not fully understand the problem because they don't want to accept it, creating resistance. It's necessary to explain to the parents the importance of becoming aware of the diagnosis and how they can help. For these interventions, there are various playful resources, games, crafts, and strategic tools that will vary according to the specific needs of the patient. For the second stage, there is no exact number of sessions, and it's important that you keep a development report that can be presented to the parents monthly.
