How does disinformation circulate and what effects does it have on our democracies? In a context marked by information overload and increasing polarization, this conversation proposes to analyze the mechanisms, actors, and strategies that structure the dissemination of misleading content. Maud Quessard addresses these dynamics from a geopolitical perspective, using the United States as a case study, while José Natanson offers an analysis situated within the contexts of Latin America. Drawing on her experience in fact-checking at Chequeado, Olivia Sohr provides concrete tools for identifying and combating disinformation. This exchange invites us to better understand a central phenomenon of our time and to reflect on the challenges it poses for public debate. Date: Saturday, May 23, 3:00 p.m., CETC Participants: Maud Quessard and José Natanson Moderator: Olivia Sohr - Chequeado
