What is the Best Performance Sailing Catamaran for Around the World? (Ep.2)

As a liveaboard sailing couple with a plan to circumnavigate, we were on a quest to understand exactly what makes a performance catamaran and what the benefits are for cruisers. With the help of the internet and by talking to a naval architect and boat designer, we could better understand the math which took the mystery out of it. This made choosing our next sailboat, much easier. We recognize that performance data for sailboats can be elusive, but wanted to share our thought process and how we narrowed down the boats we were considering and landed on Outremer as a boat builder.
