DF no.368, Hi, just showing my face again & mucking about with no purpose. Premier Crown, Paiste 602

Haven't done one of these for a while. Yeah, it shows. I'll take this down soon as I can do something better. I've been busy with band rehearsals and gigs with Condenser and Steerpyke - you know, learning & playing actual songs. Need to ease back into abstract meanderings. The take before - DF no.367 (unlisted)    • DF no.367 - Premier Crown, vintage Paiste ...   Kit: Vintage 1980 Premier Crown kit, 22"/13"/16" (I now have a 14" rack tom for it but prefer the 4-piece setup) Late 1960s Premier chrome-on-brass, 5.5", 8-lug. Vintage Paiste Formula 602 cymbals: 14" hats, 18" Thin, 20" flat ride (1980s), 20" Thin, 12" Thin (2 rivets). Usual recording method - two old Tascam TR-100 field recorders and an el-cheapo overhead. No mucking about, just as played. Diary: Premier snare: bought last year but haven't really played it until now. It wants an Ambassador on top in place of the Emperor, I think, for a more responsive, brassy sound. It has the 2000 series snare strainer. Quite a rare drum, I was told. Watching this video back, I see I'm swapping the left hand grip between matched and traditional quite often. This is mostly unconscious. One day the hand technique I work out on the practice pad will translate onto the kit. Wish it would hurry up. This is embarrassing.
