The Spawn Run! Catching Australia's Biggest Trout!

My first time visiting the Snowy Mountains was a trip I will never forget. Over the course of the weekend we hiked many kilometres, scaled gorges, trekked along the kind of landscape that you would mistake for New Zealand in the search for some of the countries biggest trout! The key was to cover as much water as you could. They were often there but pretty difficult to spot. Once you found them though it was all about presenting your flies to them as much as you can so you could get a reaction strike; after all the fish were up the rivers to spawn and feeding wasn’t their top priority. Truly a magical trout fishing experience that we were lucky to experience and well worth the 7 hour drive from Melbourne.
