Archivum Musicum Description: The Lilienlied seems to have originated only around 1830 as a song from old fragments, and was first sung by students in Heidelberg, Jena and Göttingen. Probably after a drinking originated mix of older songs from Thuringia and Saxony; also in Swabia, on the Rhine and in Upper and Lower Hesse known and still much sung.
