Bergtour auf die Sulzspitze | Allgäuer Alpen

We start the day in perfect mountain weather in the Tannheim Valley. The sun shines from a clear blue sky, with only a few white clouds hanging over the peaks. We glide effortlessly up to the mountain station on the Neunerköpfle cable car. From there, our son sets off full of energy – he tackles the entire ascent to the Neunerköpfle summit on foot, all by himself. At the top, we enjoy the fantastic view together: the Tannheim Valley stretches out before us, and far below, Lake Haldensee glistens in the sun. A magnificent start to our hike! Afterwards, we descend a short distance and continue along the Tannheim High Trail towards the Sulzspitze. The trail is easy and popular, so there are quite a few hikers on it. Initially, the path is fairly flat before becoming steeper again shortly before the Strindenscharte pass. At the junction for the Sulzspitze, we decide to take the detour, while most hikers continue on. The trail is strenuous and steep, but when we reach the summit cross, we feel proud and happy. The view over the surrounding peaks and the rest of the high-altitude trail is breathtaking. Back on the main route, we continue towards the Schochenspitze. The path climbs gently at first, then more steeply. Soon we are below the summit, and in a few minutes we reach the cross. From the top, we have a fantastic view of the Landsberger Hütte and the lakes – the Traualpsee and Vilsalpsee shimmer below us. We descend to the foot of the Schochenspitze. The direct route over the saddle is closed due to a rockfall, so we take the detour down towards Lache, the small lake next to the Landsberger Hütte. Our son manages this section to Lache on foot as well. At the Landsberger Hütte, we take a break and enjoy a well-deserved rest in the sunshine with a panoramic mountain view. Refreshed, we head down to the Traualpsee. The steep descent is challenging once more, but the scenery is so beautiful that the effort is almost forgotten. We're especially thrilled that even the little one wants to tackle the tough part on foot. We continue our hike along the lake to Lake Vilsalpsee – the path seems endless, and we're relieved when we finally reach our destination. As a reward, everyone enjoys an ice cream on the lakeshore.
