In this article, we bid farewell to Ushuaia, the habitable city on the South American continent known as the end of the world and the closest to the South Pole. Our journey is to El Bolson, a town in Argentinian Patagonia where we had previously volunteered. As three Turks, we embark on this 2200 km journey. Our goal is to survive in the challenging landscapes of Chile and Argentina, a land filled with adventures and stressful surprises, and to complete our journey north by making friends with these people whose language we speak. In this adventure, where motivation and experience are paramount, we sometimes pitch our tents on the roadside and share our last meal.
