Over the past 40 years, as bridges connecting islands to islands and islands to the mainland have opened one by one, Sinan is no longer an isolated island. This bridge opened four years ago as Sinan's 13th bridge connecting the mainland and the mainland. Currently, the construction project for a causeway extending from this Chupodaegyo Bridge to Bigeumdo is being actively pursued. Following the completion of the basic design this year, a ‘turnkey’ bidding process, which involves simultaneous design and construction, is scheduled to take place as early as within this year. Bigeum Bridge spans a total length of 10.4 km, including a 5 km bridge section, and is expected to become the second longest bridge among Sinan’s land-connecting and island-connecting bridges, following Cheonsa Bridge. Bigeum Bridge is considered the final key project of the 'Diamond Islands Land-Island Bridge Project,' which connects the islands of Sinan. Since the opening of Sinan Bridge No. 1 in 1989, a total of 13 land-island bridges have been completed to date, including Abhae Bridge and Cheonsa Bridge.
